Juventus have confirmed that Claudio Marchisio will be out for at least one month after suffering a knee injury against Lazio.

The Italy international limped out of the Bianconeri’s 4-0 win over Lazio on Sunday, and this afternoon the club have announced that the midfielder has suffered a slight ligament tear.

A statement on the Juve website read: “An MRI scan reveals a first-second degree tear of the midfielder’s medial collateral ligament. He is expected to be sidelined for a period of between 30 and 35 days.”

The news means Marchisio will miss the Old Lady’s League games against Sampdoria and Inter, as well as the Azzurri’s World Cup qualifiers at home to Bulgaria and Czech Republic.
