Federico Marchetti says Lazio have “good memories” of Stefano Pioli, but want to finish well under Simone Inzaghi.

The Biancocelesti qualified for the Champions League last season, but a poor showing this term cost the Coach his job, with Inzaghi promoted from the Primavera until at least the end of the season.

“We already knew Simone Inzaghi,” Marchetti explained to Corriere dello Sport.

“But when there’s a change of Coach it resets everything. We all want to end this season in the best way possible.

“Pioli? We have good memories, there was satisfaction and some disappointments.”

The Aquile’s Ultras have been boycotting Stadio Olimpico all season in protest at new segregation, has it affected the team?

“It wouldn’t be honest of me to say it hasn’t changed anything. You’ll get more points with a full stadium.”

Finally, the goalkeeper was asked about veteran striker Miroslav Klose, who is expected to retire at the end of the season.

“When he arrived I was curious to get to know him,” Marchetti recalled.

“He’s a great player and a great person who always helps the younger lads. It’s been a good five years, Klose has made me better.”
