Rolando Maran assures Genoa’s 4-1 win over Crotone ‘was not at all easy,’ and it’s positive newcomers Marko Pjaca and Davide Zappacosta got goals.
“This victory was not at all easy, because Crotone were pressing and we did well to get off to such a strong start,” said the coach in his press conference.
“We made it look easy, but that was by no means the case. We’ve got to keep building on this and improve, but it’s already a good way to start.
“I believe right now that the players have the right characteristics to play in this system. We can work on other formations in future, but there isn’t much time for tactical sessions.”
New signings Pjaca and Zappacosta scored on their debut, just hours after completing the loan moves from Juventus and Chelsea respectively.
“It means a great deal. They arrived with enthusiasm and immediately at our disposal, proving themselves to be fine players and men.
“Good players can always play together. It was important that we started the season on the right foot and could tell even in the warm-up that we had the right attitude.”
