Rolando Maran criticised his Chievo players’ effort in today’s 1-0 defeat by Crotone.

The Flying Donkeys were beaten by an Antin Budimir goal in the first half of this afternoon’s Serie A clash.

And despite having numerous chances to equalise, Maran was unhappy with his side’s display.

“It’s a poor defeat because we didn’t interpret the match well,” the Chievo boss explained.

“Today, Crotone had a thousand reasons to be motivated but it was also down to us not putting in what we should have done.”

Roberto Inglese had a goal chalked off after VAR adjudged him to have strayed marginally offside.

“In my opinion, Inglese’s goal should have stood but that doesn’t change my verdict.

“We had three or four chances at the end, but we need to improve.”
