“Despodov, Thereau and Cacciatore will be called up, despite having only a few training sessions with their teammates,” Maran said at a Press conference.

“We’ve also called up [Riccardo] Doratiotto from the Primavera team. We have to put in a performance with a capital P of quality, sacrifice and bravery.

“The penalties awarded against us and Inter have had a very different media echo. I want to believe nothing will be influenced tomorrow.

“I’ll change a few players compared to the game against Genoa, not just Deiola who is banned.

“We have to go out convinced that we can pick up a result. I see a very cohesive Inter right now.

“I’m working with some great professionals. Their respect for everything and everyone allows me to create healthy competition.

“At home we’ve messed up a few times because of our attitude but if we play with a common purpose, I’m convinced we can have a great game.

“Our character will be crucial. The competitive charge must be our engine, regardless of the team we’re facing.

“I found analysing our first meeting with them to be important.”
