“We got it back at the end, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t deserve a positive result from the performance,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“I saw the right reaction and I think overall Cagliari did more to deserve the victory than Empoli.
“We have paid a heavy price lately for injuries and a tough fixture list. Now we have to get some players back to full fitness and find some consistency in our results.”
It was fitting that Diego Farias should score the equaliser, because it may well have been his final Cagliari appearance before moving on to Bologna.
“I called him up because he is a Cagliari player to all intents and purposes. We’ll see what happens over the next few days, we know January is an odd month.”
