Daniele Faggiano has been sacked from his position as sporting director and Maran said he had a good meeting with President Enrico Preziosi ahead of the home game against the Gialloblu.

“Now, we have an important week ahead. We need to get to the match against Fiorentina with energy.”
Genoa are 19th in Serie A with five points from nine games in the new season, but Maran said the players at the Luigi Ferraris are ‘committed’ to and stressed the Grifone are in this situation due to the coronavirus outbreak in the team group at the end of September.
“The lads are committed, they came off the pitch completely exhausted today,” he said. “I have nothing to say from this point of view.
“We are trying to push. We are in this situation for the reasons we all know. All this has led to a difficult situation. Otherwise, we would have had less fear and less anxiety.
“We take note, we must do something different.”
