Devis Mangia is overjoyed at his new contract with Palermo, but warns his men to be wary of predecessor Stefano Pioli in today's game.

The Coach was promoted from the youth team when Pioli was sensationally sacked just 10 days before the start of the season, but has only now been handed an improved deal.

“The contract renewal makes me very proud, as it means the club has faith in me and is happy with what I have done so far,” said Mangia of his two-year extension.

“At the same time, I feel sad that director of sport Sean Sogliano has resigned. He was the one who brought me here and he believed in me all the way. I had no idea his situation was so troubled.”

Sogliano quit this week following another blazing row with President Maurizio Zamparini.

It was Zamparini who sacked Pioli and the Coach comes face to face with Palermo, as he is now in charge of today's opponents Bologna.

“We will certainly come up against a very motivated side and need to be very careful,” continued Mangia.

“I still have confidence, as the squad has faith in me. The new contract won't lead me to change my attitude towards the players.”

Palermo squad: Benussi, Brichetto, Tzorvas; Aguirregaray, Balzaretti, Cetto, Mantovani, Munoz, Pisano, Silvestre; Acquah, Alvarez, Bacinovic, Bertolo, Di Matteo, Ilicic, Lores, Migliaccio, Simon, Zahavi; Hernandez, Miccoli, Budan
