Italy Under-21 boss Devis Mangia says he has no problems with losing three key players to the full international side.

The Azzurrini face Sweden at home and away in the next week as they look to qualify for Euro 2013, but they will be without Marco Verratti, Stephan El Shaarawy and Mattia Destro.

“I’m very happy with my squad,” the former Palermo boss stated on Thursday afternoon.

“This is a team that has changed since qualification, partly because of technical decisions, injuries and because players like Verratti, El Shaarawy and Destro have been called up by Cesare Prandelli…”

Mangia has been ‘given back’ Fabio Borini and Lorenzo Insigne for their upcoming ties, but there are claims that the side may miss the Paris SG star in midfield.

“Verratti is an excellent player, but I’ve never had him at my disposal,” said the man who replaced Ciro Ferrara in the summer.

“I’ve still got some good midfielders who compliment each other. It doesn’t matter who is not here, what matters are the players who are. I’m happy for those who are already part of the full set-up.”

Italy will firstly come up against Sweden in Pescara on Friday before Tuesday’s return play-off encounter.

“We’re facing an organised side with good individuality. Sweden won their group and they’re not an opponent to be underestimated. There is tension within the camp, but we are very hopeful.

“They will be two important games and I hope the team puts in two good performances. We’ll look to confirm the progress which has been made in these last few years.”
