Manenti is expected to take over the club today as part of the Gruppo Proto. The club denied yesterday that a sale had been completed, but an announcement is expected today after a new board of directors is announced.

The Ducali have failed to pay their players this season, and will be placed in administration if salaries aren't paid by February 16.

“We’re taking over Parma at a crucial point in its history,” Manenti told Premium Sports.

“We talked to the players a few days ago, they’re coming out of a turbulent period, but I think they left satisfied.

“As befits true professionals, they didn’t ask about their salaries, but only saving the club. We intend to come in on Friday, Monday at the latest and settle both income tax and salaries.

“It will be a race against time, but in the end we’ll pay everything.

“This is one of the biggest Italian clubs, we had contact with [former President Tommaso] Ghirard in November, but it didn’t come to anything.

“We’ll try to involve both Italian and foreign companies, the idea being to produce and export both in and out of Italy.

“The technical processes are important and must be respected, but I repeat, we’ll pay everything.”
