Parma President Giampiero Manenti says wages will be paid before midnight tonight, saving the club from administration.

The Ducali players have not been paid all season, and today is the deadline for payments to be made, with the players ready to serve notice on the club.

“We can’t be calm until it’s done, but in principle all the agreements have been made,” Manenti told Radio Parma.

“We hope [it will go through] today, it would change everything. We could talk about sports, which the lads deserve.

“Have I spoken to the players? Not today, because they have a rest-day, but they’re being kept informed of all the steps we’re taking.

“The FIGC deadline is midnight, and we won’t only pay the players, but also everyone who works behind the scenes, i.e. the staff. There’s no difference for us, they’re key.”

Manenti was then pressed over when the money would go through and offered hope that it would happen this afternoon.

“Five or six o’clock? We could also talk about three o’clock, we’re all waiting.”
