Club captain Alessandro Lucarelli announced today that the players had decided not to play Sunday’s fixture at Genoa, as they and the staff have not been paid all season.

Arriving for a scheduled meeting with town’s mayor amidst jeering and insults, Manenti spoke to assembled reporters and continued to insist the money will arrive.

“The money is there,” the President claimed.

“It will arrive in the next few days. It’s from a sponsor.

“We only need two or three days for technical procedures. I’m not worried.”
