Giampietro Manenti claims Inter are in an even worse situation than Parma when the club went bankrupt.

The Brescia and Slovenia-based businessman was one of several patrons Parma had in the year leading up to their demotion.

“Everyone wrote that Manenti arrived and within 20 days devastated the city,” he told La Repubblica newspaper.

“I read on the Gazzetta dello Sport that Inter have debts of €417m. Why doesn’t Inter go bankrupt and Parma does?

“They wrote that Parma had €200m debts, but it was €60m, at most €80m. Do you know how many of these situations there are in Serie A? But they had to take Parma down…”

Today Galatasaray were banned from UEFA competition for a year for failing to meet Financial Fair Play parameters.

Inter did not qualify for Europe this season, but there are serious doubts as to whether the club would be able to register this summer.
