“Since January I have lost Jorginho, Iturbe, Romulo and Marquinho,” said the Coach ahead of his fifth season in charge of Verona.
“We’ll have everyone’s eyes on us and I say now it is unrealistic to think we can do better, but I also say nothing is impossible. Our objective is to secure safety as soon as possible.
“We need to prove that the results we achieved last year were no fluke. We went so close to Europe and it’s a shame, but we’ll have to watch it on TV instead.”
Mandorlini told La Gazzetta dello Sport that Toni, who scored 20 goals last season, remains their focal point.
“Toni for Verona has the same importance as Tevez for Juventus” data-scaytid=”16″>Juventus or Higuain for Napoli. If Juve and Napoli can depend so heavily on one player, then it’s only normal for Verona to be dependent on Toni.”
