“The support of our fans will be important and we felt it on Thursday when we held the open training session in the stadium,” said Coach Mandorlini.

There is a bitter rivalry between the sides, which often spills out into cruel insults via banners and chants in the crowd.

“This fixture with Napoli is one that always means a lot to the fans and players. We must do everything to get points, even if it means being ugly, gritty and nasty.

“Rafa Benitez is a great Coach and we are taking on an excellent team.”

It is also a return to the Bentegodi for Jorginho, who left Verona for Napoli in January 2014.

“He is like a prodigal son returning home and we will embrace him. It’ll be nice to see him again.”

Rafael Marquez and Mattia Valoti are still out injured, while Artur Ionita is suspended.
