Verona Coach Andrea Mandorlini has eulogised Juan Manuel Iturbe, comparing the prospective Juventus signing to a Formula 1 car.

The 21-year-old is increasingly speculated as set to sign off on a transfer from the Gialloblu to the Bianconeri this week.

Whilst it means he won’t be able to work with him for next year, his current Coach has backed Iturbe to more than make the grade in Turin.

“Is he the strongest I have coached? Yes, for pure technique and also for his physical capacity,” Mandorlini has told Tuttosport today.

“Perhaps it is not easy to notice, if you do not work with him every day, but Iturbe is a Formula 1 car.

“He does not let up, he recovers quickly from physical exertion, he can shoot and has endurance. He can control the ball, but he is also a supreme athlete.

“Certainly he can get to the level of the greatest – he has everything he needs to grow again and to become one of the top five or six players out there.

“Iturbe is ready to export elsewhere what he has been seen in Verona.”

The suggestion is that Iturbe’s signing opens the door to Antonio Conte changing Juventus’ formation to a 4-3-3.

“I believe he is ideal for a trident attach, whilst he would have no issue moving in tandem with another player.

“He would of course have to make some changes to his movement, but he has the insight and intelligence to make the right decisions.

“Would he work well with Carlos Tevez or be mismatched? I do not know, in the sense that it is for Antonio Conte to address that issue, rather than myself.

“If I have to give an opinion as an outside observer, I would not see them as at all bad together.

“But…how about an attack with the two South Americans and Fernando Llorente too. That would be a trident to fear…”
