Andrea Mandorlini “always had faith” that Verona would not fire him during a negative streak.

Hellas had lost three on the bounce and were without a win in seven, but emerged victorious 2-1 in Udine this afternoon.

“We had plenty of chances today and went a goal down, but thanks to the spirit of these lads were able to turn the result around. It’s an important win for us,” Mandorlini told Sky Sport Italia.

“I know football is like that and certain things were said after some negative results. In truth, I always had faith in the club. I read things, but I never thought my future would be away from Verona.

“Of course it’s difficult to follow what we did last season, but today we showed that we’re a united group with real quality. It was a deserved win.”
