Former Inter and Manchester City Coach Roberto Mancini could replace Rafael Benitez at Napoli for next season, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

Napoli have endured a poor start to the season, being knocked out of the Champions League in the Play-off round, and losing two of their first three fixtures in Serie A.

According to the Gazzetta Dello Sport, Benitez is in no danger of being dismissed before the end of the season, but both he and Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis are increasingly ‘moving away’ from extending the Spaniard’s contract beyond that point.

Rumours are circulating that Benitez is hankering for a return to England, where he enjoyed success with Liverpool and Chelsea, and the Gazzetta reports that Roberto Mancini is the man De Laurentiis would favour to replace him.

Mancini is currently unemployed after a stint in Turkey with Galatasaray, and the newspaper reports that he would gladly return to Serie A.
