Italy coach Roberto Mancini believes it’ll take a couple of weeks before we see the tempo return to normal after the long lay-off and hopes fans can be back too.

Mancini spoke to RAI Sport at half-time during the Coppa Italia Final between Napoli and Juventus.

“I think the tempo is normal, as these are the first games after three months out. Juve started well, then Napoli created several good chances towards half-time,” the Italy coach told RAI Sport.

“It will take four or five games before we see the tempo return to normal, as the players are lacking match-fitness. People want football back and I hope within a few weeks we can start to get some fans into the stadium too. Football with fans is a whole other game, so I hope they can return as soon as possible.”

Euro 2020 has been postponed to next summer, starting with Italy-Turkey.

“The younger players will have another year to mature and play regularly, so that is without doubt an advantage.”
