“Mattia Caldara and Alessio Romagnoli are talented, Manuel Lazzari is young and has this opportunity to shine. They ought to be happy with this.
“We changed so much because we have to look after the players. We played 72 years ago and are not putting anyone at risk.”
Ciro Immobile is the Italy captain for the first time, as the armband always goes to the player with the most senior caps.
