Roberto Mancini said he has “one goal: to win, to win and to win” at Zenit St Petersburg after taking over as Head Coach.

The former Inter Coach was announced by the Russian side today and gave his first interview to the official club site.

“I feel very good, because I’m in a fantastic city and I’m at the best club in Russia! I know the club because I have followed the team in the past. It’s a really good team with very good players. The city is one of the most famous in the world and I’m very happy to come to this city.

“I’ve never really seen St. Petersburg, so for this reason, l’ll be happy to see the city, to learn about the monuments and the architecture and everything about the city,” Mancini told fc-zenit.ru.

“To see the team and the players on the pitch, is different from seeing them close up and getting to know them well. For me it’s important to get to know them very well in pre-season and only after that we can make all the decisions. Now it’s not easy to say. In the last championship the team took third place, it’s a good team and they deserve more.

“My goal is only one, to win, to win and to win! But for this we need to work very hard, we need to be serious, we need to have the same targets together.

“I think we can do this with the support of our fans, because I know that we have incredible fans and I’m sure that in one year, we’ll do our best and will win something important!

“I say hello to all the Zenit fans and I can say that we will work very hard, because we want to win for them!”
