Roberto Mancini assures Inter “have faith” in Eder, after his winning goal for Italy on Friday.

The forward joined the Nerazzurri from Sampdoria in January, but scored just once in his first few months at San Siro.

“First of all, he’s a very serious professional,” Mancini said when asked about Eder by Sky.

“He was unfortunate that he arrived at Inter in our worst period, but he always did his duty. Unfortunately he didn’t score a lot of goals, but we have faith in him.

“How far can Italy go? I think it’s a bit of a strange tournament, given the top two will qualify along with the four best third-placed teams.

“I think if they don’t intersect with each other, they [Italy] can be semi-finalists with Spain, France and Germany. Belgium have great talents, but they struggle to be a true team.”
