The Guardian reports that it’s a two-way race between Manchester United and Chelsea for Inter star Andre Onana.

The 27-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper shined in his debut season with the Nerazzurri, having joined on a free transfer last summer. He quickly supplanted Samir Handanovic as the new number one under Simone Inzaghi and did not disappoint between the sticks.

Onana stood out in Inter’s run to the Champions League final, playing every available minute on the European stage as he impressed both with the ball at his feet and with his shot stopping skills.

As detailed by The Guardian, Manchester United are looking for a new number one to replace David de Gea and have decided to compete with Chelsea for Onana, who could be sold by Inter after just a year for an important profit.

The Nerazzurri are aware that they may lose the 27-year-old this summer, so have identified Brentford’s David Raya as a possible replacement. Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario has also been linked with a move to Lombardy.

Chelsea have already been in close contact with Inter regarding Onana, amongst other subjects, and offers may start to arrive in the coming weeks.
