In an extraordinary report from today’s edition of the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, it’s suggested Manchester United are prepared to offer €100m to buy Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Verratti.
He spent much of this season on the treatment table, eventually having to undergo surgery for a sports hernia that forced him to miss Euro 2016.
Verratti is under contract until June 2020 with an option to renew for a further year.
The wages on offer would also be staggering at €8.5m per season for the midfielder groomed to be the next Andrea Pirlo.
Verratti is still only 23 years old and was snapped up by PSG from Pescara for €12m in 2012, having never made a single Serie A appearance.
