The proposal put forward to Toro is €12m (£8.5m) plus a further €3m (£2.1m) in performance-related bonuses.
However, Granata President Urbano Cairo has made it very clear he will not part with Darmian for less than €20m (£14.2m).
The 25-year-old is a regular in the Italy side, as he’s able to play in a 3-5-2 or four-man defence.
