Manchester United are ready to sweep aside Manchester City and go all in for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.

It is widely-known that the two Manchester clubs are tracking his progress, but above all the Old Trafford side.

Despite Jose Mourinho’s dismissal, United continue to see Milenkovic as the best available centre-back even under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Aged just 21, the Serbia international has two goals in 18 Serie A appearances this season.

His price-tag is in the region of €50m and Tuttosport today claim that Manchester United are ready to go beyond mere talks and make a formal offer.

Unlike Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, Milenkovic could well be available in the January transfer window.

Fiorentina would make a massive profit, having paid €5m to get him from Partizan Belgrade in the summer of 2017.

That deal includes owing 10 per cent to Partizan of any future sale.
