Manchester City announced they will build a statue to David Silva, who is expected to join Lazio, after his 10 years at the club.

The 34-year-old is now a free agent after his contract with City expired.

He joined the Premier League side in 2010 from Valencia and went on to make 436 competitive appearances for City, scoring 77 goals and providing 140 assists.

The statue will stand outside the ground and be unveiled in 2021, along with another tribute to Vincent Kompany.

David Silva will also have the Manchester City Football Academy pitch named after him with mosaic, a copy of which the Spaniard can have in his home.

Although a decision has not yet been announced, it is widely believed Silva will continue his career at Lazio.
