Manager Roberto Mancini has repeatedly defended SuperMario despite off the field antics and a training ground bust-up, but The Guardian claims City directors have finally run out of patience.
According to the latest reports, Manchester City would be willing to accept an offer of €30m – £24.6m – for the Italian international.
This matches the fee that City paid to take him from Inter in 2010.
Today Nerazzurri director Piero Ausilio confirmed Inter still have “first refusal on Balotelli if he leaves Manchester City,” but they do not seem intent on exercising that option.
Milan have concerns too, as President Silvio Berlusconi referred to Balotelli as a “bad apple” who did not belong in their locker room.
However, the 22-year-old would fit the club’s strategy of focusing on youth and is much admired by Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani.
On Thursday agent Mino Raiola told Sky Sport Italia that the chances of Balotelli returning to Italy right now are “0.0001 per cent.”
