Alberto Malesani has moved to deny claims that Bologna's financial problems are having a negative effect on his side's performances.
Last week it emerged that wages for May and June had not been paid and that the club now risks a three-point penalty in Serie A.
Speaking in light of Bologna's 4-1 defeat to Napoli on Sunday, Malesani said: "I have seen the lads at work and I exclude the fact that the business surrounding the club could have influenced [the result].

"When I arrived at Bologna I was offered a great project that I liked. I hope it can still go forward. I don't know if it can with this President, but I hope that the project can go forward."
Asked about the issue of the outstanding wages, Malesani said: "It takes common sense. We are not poor."
Finally, he reflected on Sunday's heavy defeat, which leaves Bologna 16th in Serie A.
"We often commit the mistake of lapsing in concentration away from home. Three of the four goals conceded against Napoli came from a lack of attention in simple situations.
"We must improve on this aspect.
"On the whole, Bologna played a good game, commanding the play in stages. I wasn't disappointed with the team. They fought until the 90th minute."
