Napoli completed the signing of Malcuit for a reported €11m plus bonuses on Wednesday, and Bruno Satin believes the Partenopei have bagged themselves a quality player, despite the club previously negotiations ‘for bigger names’.

“I offered him to Napoli months ago, but Giuntoli was negotiating for bigger names,” he told Radio Crc.

“Sabaly then faded and Napoli quickly closed the deal for Malcuit. We’re talking about an attacking full-back.

“He finds it relatively easy to beat his man and whip in a good cross. He’ll need to adapt to Italian football, becoming more rigorous defensively, but with a teacher like Ancelotti it won’t be a problem.

“Napoli represent a great opportunity for Malcuit. He comes from Monaco’s youth set-up and has played through the entire football pyramid in France.

“Lille had a difficult season last year, but he also had a lot of injuries. He could’ve been a candidate for France’s World Cup squad without them.

“He can also play on the left. He played there in the third tier. We’re talking about a versatile player, with a huge desire to play at this level.”
