CONI President Giovanni Malagò has claimed it’s ‘time to make decisions’ and highlighted that ‘everyone must lose something’ during the forced break.

With football at a standstill, the CONI President emphasised the need of decision makers at the respective federations, despite wanting to find a common path to ‘help football’.

“I believe the big mistake that can be made is to intervene in contexts and worlds where there are precise delegations and representations,” Malagò told DAZN. “Do you want to be the President of a federation? Then this is your time to make decisions.

“Everyone must lose something, the ideal situation would be to find a path together, where there are no losers or winners and to help football start again as soon as possible and regardless of this season.”

Malago was happy with the decision to postpone Euro 2020 until next year and predicted the Finals in 2021 will ‘be great’.

“It was absolutely the right decision to postpone the competition,” he added. “Imagine what the European Championship would have been without an audience.

“In my opinion, it will be a great Euros, it will be the reason why international football can start again all together.”
