Olympic chief Giovanni Malago has warned the FIGC that “we’ll intervene” if Serie A and B fail to elect new Presidents.
Serie B will try to make an appointment on Thursday, ahead of Serie A following suit next Monday, but Malago reiterated the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) would not hesitate to get involved, with the FIGC yet to shed light over Carlo Tavecchio’s successor.
“At the moment, lawyers are studying the situation. It’s a matter of hours before they give us their feedback,” he told Corriere dello Sport.

“We’re faced by two types of problems. There’s a serious crisis on a federal level, which we must tackle.
“The formal problems are subtler but no less important, and they need more analysis.
“It’s not definite that we’re going to take temporary charge [of the FIGC]. You can expect the Lega A and B assemblies to take place.
“If they find their Presidents, it’ll be a step forward. If they don’t, we’ll need to intervene with all the relevant tools.
“Names of the FIGC’s next President? I don’t even know if there will be one.”
