Sport are running the line that Real Madrid are ready to battle Barcelona and Manchester United for Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado.

The Colombian was heavily linked with a summer transfer to either Barca or United, before entering into protracted and ultimately successful contract extension talks with La Viola.

However, speculation continues to link the winger with a future transfer out of the Artemio Franchi, and today Sport are listing Real Madrid as a third club with interest.

The Catalan-based publication writes that where Barcelona are continuing to plan their transfer strategy in spite of uncertainty over their appeal over a FIFA transfer ban, Madrid have entered into the bidding for Cuadrado too.

Los Blancos have apparently been in contention for a number of weeks and even hold hope of closing out an agreement shortly. They are described as viewing the player as ‘very desirable’.

Whilst Madrid are also seen as in direct talks, Cuadrado’s intention is apparently to hold off agreeing anything until he better understands the position of other clubs interested in his services.

Sport reiterate Cuadrado holds interest in moving to Barca and that his agent maintains contact with the Blaugrana.
