That is according to the Italian Under-21 international's agent, who was interviewed by Radio Mana Mana earlier today.

"As far as I am aware, Manchester United intend to keep Macheda," stated Giovanni Bia. "They don't want to loan him out again."

Macheda joined Sampdoria in January in a bid to play regular football, but he was hampered by their struggles.

Doria, who sold Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini at the start of 2011, slid down the table and were eventually relegated to Serie B.

Macheda made 14 appearances in Serie A, for a total of 468 minutes, but failed to find the back of the net in the League.

There was a suggestion that Doria would keep Macheda in a bid to get them back into the top flight.
