Federico Macheda holds ambitions to stay and fight for his place in the Manchester United team next season.
The 20-year-old Italian has spent the last six months of each of the previous two seasons out on loan, in 2010-11 with Sampdoria and then last season with Queens Park Rangers. His time at the latter was cut short following a season-ending ankle injury in March.
Speaking on the English club’s official website, the striker stated his desire to finally make his mark on the historic club.

Speaking on the English club’s official website, the striker stated his desire to finally make his mark on the historic club.
“When you go on loan you really understand how important it is to play for this club,” he noted.
“I’m really happy to be back and I can’t wait for the start of the season.
“Last season was disappointing. In the first six months I didn’t get a lot of opportunities so we decided it was best for me to go on loan.
“When I got to QPR things went a bit wrong, though, as I was feeling my ankle a lot. But now I feel a lot better and want to start the season well. It’s a big season for me.”
Macheda is a product of Lazio’s youth sector and joined Manchester United in 2007 aged 16.
