Olympique Lyonnais claim Juventus’ “change in tact” was behind them not signing Corentin Tolisso over the summer.
Tolisso was heavily tipped to join Juve during the close-season, but Bayern Munich went on to pay a club-record €41.5m for the midfielder.
“Juve have what it takes to match Lyon’s record of seven consecutive League titles,” Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas told Tuttosport.
“Us and Juventus are two clubs capable of winning with the right mix of economy and sport.

“I’m not worried about losing our record: I’ve always liked Juve and I’d be happy for Andrea Agnelli, but I think this Serie A will be tighter.
