Olympique Lyonnais are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen.

Sky Sport Italia claimed on Saturday that Samp wanted more money from Lyon up front for Andersen.

Issuing an update on the situation, the broadcaster assures the French club remain ‘very interested’, negotiations are progressing well and a deal could be closed for €25m plus bonuses.

The Ligue 1 side have money to burn after raising over €100m from selling Ferland Mendy and – all-but-officially – Tanguy Ndombele to Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur respectively.

Samp, meanwhile, stand to make a huge profit of their own, having bought the Dane for €1.5m from Twente in the summer of 2017.
