BBC Sport reports the 26-year-old did not train with the squad on Friday, instead working alone in the gym.
When asked whether Lukaku could still join the Beneamata, Solskjaer asserted he had 'no more updates'.
It now remains to be seen whether Inter continue to pursue the No 9 or focus on alternative targets such as Edinson Cavani and Ante Rebic.
