Captain Alessandro Lucarelli believes a deal to sell Parma to American investors is close after a meeting with Carlo Tavecchio.
The Ducali captain was part of a delegation of players which met with the FIGC President this afternoon, and the defender is confident that things are moving in the right direction.
“Tavecchio has spoken to a US fund which is interested,” Lucarelli told assembled media after the meeting.
“Steps forward have been taken. I think there will be a meeting with the receivers soon to implement the deal.”

The 37-year-old was also optimistic that the situation at Tardini will lead to a change in how the sport is run in Italy.
“The President has assured us that the Federal Council of 26 March will discuss new rules regarding the Leagues.
“We’re asking for greater control over the debts of clubs, both cost management and mandatory guarantees for people who buy clubs.
“There was great willingness on Tavecchio’s part.
“Tavecchio is on our side, but let’s see what will happen on March 26.”
