Chucky Lozano admits he does not know how far Napoli could go in the Champions League after their 2-0 win away to Eintracht Frankfurt. ‘We have to take it one game at a time.’

It was a dominant performance at the Deutsche Bank Park, even before the Randal Kolo Muani red card, as by then Kvicha Kvaratskhelia had already seen his penalty saved by Kevin Trapp and Victor Osimhen put them 1-0 up.

Kvaratskhelia made up for it with his splendid back-heel flick to set up Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s first-time finish into the far bottom corner.

“We worked really hard against a very strong side. It was complicated at the start, but we put in a good performance,” Lozano told Sky Sport Italia.

“I think this was one of Napoli’s best performances of the season and we must all keep working to continue in this direction.”

Napoli have won six of their seven Champions League games and now have one foot in the quarter-final, so how far can they genuinely go in this tournament?

“I don’t know. We have to take it one game at a time. It is a strong squad with good lads and that is very positive. We’re not in the next round yet, though, Eintracht are dangerous away from home and there are another 90 minutes to play.”

The second leg will be at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on March 15 and away goals no longer count double in the Champions League, so the 2-0 result in Germany is not quite as damning as it would’ve been in past years.
