Lazio’s President then commented on last night’s home defeat against Udinese and praised the work of manager Stefano Pioli, despite only three points from four games.
“We still have to find our feet. We need more games. Even if it’s a negative moment, I think that in the long term, work ethic and collective spirit will prevail.
“Against Udinese we had seven players missing through injuries and suspensions but despite this we still managed to play quite well.
“I don’t think that Pioli is the problem – it is way too early to think about managers now. Also in the game against Genoa, we should have won 7-0.
“I told Pioli that now more than anything, winning is the most important thing.”
