Lazio patron Claudio Lotito feels the Biancocelesti have ‘done our duty’ on the transfer market, working to give Maurizio Sarri a team that has ‘great potential’.

Among others, Lazio signed Elseid Hysaj from Napoli, Toma Basic from Girondins de Bordeaux, Felipe Anderson from West Ham and Mattia Zaccagni from Hellas Verona.

The President said he won’t evaluate the transfer market but hopes to have done enough to help Lazio ‘improve’.

“I don’t judge the market, I’m not used to it and it’s not like me to express it,” Lotito told the reporters.

“We will see what they will do on the pitch, we hope that what we have done is compliant and fuctional to achieve the objectives we have set.

“I think we have done our duty, also considering the trend of the market in a general sense.”

Maurizio Sarri’s men have started with big wins over Empoli and Spezia to sit first in Serie A during the international break.

“Ours is a team game, the team wins,” Lotito said. “Let’s see what we have done, what it will produce and what we will be able to do in the future.

“I will not make technical choices. It’s about improving, it’s about putting it to good use. Our target is to make the potential of a team that is fully available to the coach.

“To provide the coach with a team that have the greatest potential to achieve certain objectives. Sometimes the pitch betrays certain expectations.”
