Lazio President Claudio Lotito is confident the club will return to playing in Europe with the backing of Biancocelesti fans.

The Stadio Olimpico chief has endured a difficult relationship with supporters of late, with sections of the fan base boycotting matches last season in protest at his running of the club.

However, in another Press release this morning, the 57-year-old again highlighted his intentions for the new season and called for the club to move on from previous disunity.

“Our target is to build a team capable of getting back the place it deserves in Europe,” Lotito said. “Today we are doing everything we can to be able to do that.

“The signing of Parolo will bring additional quality to the team, but we have already settled other deals. This is the fifth if we count the outright signing of Candreva.

“We are hoping for an exciting season. If we have the support of the fans, we will soon be back among the big teams.”
