Delio Rossi has accused Lazio President Claudio Lotito as having ‘never understood much about football.’
The 56-year-old won the Coppa Italia during his time in charge of the Biancocelesti, whom he also guided to a Champions League place in 2007.
However, in an interview with Corriere Dello Sport, the experienced tactician criticised the Stadio Olimpico chief for his lack of ambition after securing a place in European football’s premier competition.

However, in an interview with Corriere Dello Sport, the experienced tactician criticised the Stadio Olimpico chief for his lack of ambition after securing a place in European football’s premier competition.
“Lotito has never understood much about football, I don’t know how he ever wanted me,” Rossi began.
“We qualified for the Champions League and Lotito only signed [Fabio] Vignaroli. I made my thoughts clear and I knew that I would be sent away.”
Rossi also criticised Presidents of other clubs he has worked for, most notably Palermo’s Maurizio Zamparini and Salernitana’s Aniello Aliberti.
“They have a characteristic, after a while they think they understand everything about football.
“They think mistakenly that one Coach is worth the same as another and even that coaching is easy.”
