Lorenzo Insigne has three targets for the new campaign – to sign a new contract, have a great season for Napoli and earn a spot at Brazil 2014.

The forward is expected to be handed a new deal at the Stadio San Paolo, which should see him given improved terms up until 2018.

“I’ve spoken to sporting director Riccardo Bigon and he’ll see us soon as he has other matters to deal with at the moment,” Antonio Ottaiano told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“Last season Lorenzo was considered as a player who was getting to know Serie A for the first time, but now he can be considered as an important player.

“He’s also part of Italy boss Cesare Prandelli’s World Cup plans, but, before that, he wants to earn his spot by having a notable campaign with Napoli.”

Insigne, a 22-year-old attacker, scored five goals in 37 League games last term after returning to Naples following loan spells at Foggia and Pescara.

Previously a key member of the Italian Under-21 side, he is expected to be promoted to the full squad this season – after winning his debut last term in a World Cup qualifier against Malta.
