Cagliari Coach Diego Lopez calls for his side to respond to their fans’ support and claim ‘three important points.’

A large Easter crowd is expected at the Sardegna Arena for this afternoon’s Serie A clash with Torino.

And with the Rossoblu just five points above the relegation zone, Lopez knows the home crowd could be vital in helping his team secure a second consecutive win.

“There will be a great turnout from the public. We need to respond to the affection of the fans on the pitch,” the Uruguayan commented.

“There will be a great turnout from the public. We need to respond to the affection of the fans on the pitch,” the Uruguayan commented.

“I know the Cagliari fans well, they are always there in times of need.

“We need to show the crowd our desire to win. We are at home, it’s three important points.

“We can do it with the help of our crowd.”

Cagliari’s last match was a dramatic comeback win over Benevento, with Lopez urging his players to show the same spirit today.

“After Pavoletti’s equaliser, the team won back the ball well and went forward looking for the win.

“That needs to always be the attitude we have.

“We don’t win matches because we are Cagliari – we need to always play with determination, otherwise we will find it difficult.”
