Lazio will not be signing Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, as they have instead agreed a deal with Salernitana for 32-year-old stopper Luigi Sepe according to reports from multiple outlets on Wednesday afternoon.

The Biancocelesti had been in talks for several weeks to sign the former World Cup-winning France captain from Spurs, who has lost his no.1 spot in North London to former Empoli ‘keeper Guglielmo Vicario.

However, talks were not progressing, which led Maurizio Sarri’s team to go in search of other alternatives to provide support for Ivan Provedel.

Now, Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sport Italia are reporting that Lazio have reached an agreement with Salernitana for Sepe’s services.

The 32-year-old will move on a straight loan deal with no buy option included. Calciomercato.com reports that Lazio will pay Sepe a salary of €600,000 during his time in the capital.

Over the course of last season with Salernitana, Sepe made a total of 17 top flight appearances, keeping three clean sheets in the process.

He had arrived in January 2022 on a loan deal with an obligation to buy from Parma, where he had turned out 107 times in league competitions.
