Juventus striker Fernando Llorente says his side’s Europa League campaign is a golden opportunity to win a European trophy for the club.

The Spaniard is grateful for having had the chance to play for the Old Lady, describing his move to Turin as a dream come true.

“The Europa League, with the final being played in our stadium, gives us great motivation,” Llorente said to AS.

“That fact alone pushes us to try to win a European trophy. It’s a very good opportunity.

“Of course we were thinking about the Champions League but now we are in the Europa League and we are close to reaching the final.

“It’s an incredible opportunity to get ourselves a European title, something that has been missing from this club for a long time.

“I have been lucky to be able to come here to Juve. It was a dream come true and things are going well.

“I just need to keep working hard during the season’s finale, given that we are trying to win two trophies. That’s our target.”

The 29-year-old did however admit that it would be very difficult for him to secure a place in his country’s World Cup squad.

“For me it won’t be easy to go to the World Cup. Getting to play for the national team is very difficult, but none of us lose all hope that it will happen.”
