The Bianconeri goalscorer, who impressed in his first season in Serie A, has not been included in the travelling squad to go to Brazil.

Instead, Coach Vicente Del Bosque has opted for Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa, despite him being an injury concern.

Napoli duo Pepe Reina and Raul Albiol however, do make the cut.
