Livorno President Aldo Spinelli hinted he’ll sack Coach Davide Nicola and hand over the team to Attilio Perotti.

The final straw was Saturday’s 3-0 home defeat to Parma, meaning the Amaranto have picked up just one point from eight rounds.

“At this stage I don’t know what else to do. I’ve defended him more than once,” Spinelli told Rai Sport.

“A replacement? It could be Attilio Perotti, as he has already rescued us once. He knows the environment and I wouldn’t want to bring in someone from the outside.”

Perotti is already on Livorno’s pay-roll as a technical director and took over four rounds from the end of the season in 2011-12 to avoid relegation from Serie B.

However, it was his only Coaching job since 2006, when he left Genoa and preferred to work as a director.

According to Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport, longer-term candidates for the job include Mimmo Di Carlo and Giovanni Trapattoni.
